Fighting Fall

White House Black market ~ Shirt, Abercrombie and Fitch ~ Jeans

Here's the thing with mid to late August in Northern PA the weather doesn't actually know what it wants to do, today it was rainy and cold all morning then it warmed up in late afternoon/evening. So the outfit tried to work with both sides of the finicky weather a nice light top with jeans.
So we've been busy as usual this past weekend we had our town's Oil Festival. It's basically a little fair/art show kinda thing that are very common in all of the small towns in our area and all over the country. There are vendors and lots of good (unhealthy) fair food, and a parade where businesses and churches and organizations enter floats and such. I was born in Washington D.C. and sometimes it still gets too me how completely different the two worlds, my small rural town that I live in now and the city where I was born are! Both have so much to offer though! Anyway the Oil Festival celebrated it's 152nd year this year, and it's in honor of the first commercial Oil well ever drilled which was drilled in our small little town by Col. Edwin L. Drake August 27th 1859. So there's your history for the day haha!

Have a lovely Monday! :-)

I love flowy shirts for summer, and well all year long admittedly. So I have another example of my summer wardrobe with nice, big, wingy (is that a word?), sleeves!

Spent Sunday at the beach getting my as much time there as I can before school and bad weather take all of the fun of summer away. Today reminded me all to much of the quickly approaching school year seeing as I spent most of the day doing summer home work for Honors English and Cultures. I really do enjoy school just not frivilous things like summer work!

Have a lovely Tuesday! :-)

Saturday Night

So not the most exciting night, but it certainly has been fun so far. My little sister and I were bored, so we went and grabbed our new school notebooks, and my, um, exteneded, collection of old fashion and beauty magazines. Mix those two things together and the result is artsy chic notebooks   :-)
My new french notebook! Hmm, didn't realize how bad of a glare there was on these!

My sister's whole collection of notebooks!
The current state of the living room floor.
Next thing up on the agenda for tonight are inspiration for clothes shopping ( hopefully this week).

Have a lovely Saturday!

Free People August 2011 Catalog

If you're anything like me today you woke up to a very lovely suprise in your mailbox, the August 2011 Free People Catalog. To say the least I'm in love with anything and everything Free People! So, I thought I'd share some of my favorite pieces that I hope to attain or at least get inspiration from! These are my top five favorite pieces, it was very hard to narrow it down!
I've wanted a really georgous cape for a long time and this one just might take the cake!

Such a sweet simple little dress but the pattern and color really make it pop!

This is so adorable I'd love to get a few different pieces like this for layering!

I'm completely obsessed with knee high boots! They are about the only shoes that can survive northern PA weather for more then one winter. These just happen to be  knee high boots and stunningly beautiful.
4. Joe Lace Up Over the Knee Boot in natural/blue I also like taupe and khaki

This little look I love, and hope to channel the pretty circle skirt with a more causual sweater.
5. The whole outfit
Lovely Lace Tie top (above)

Well hope you all get to check out the new Catalog and love it as much as I do!

Have a lovely Friday! :-)

Summer Adventures

So this last week or so has been absoutley insane! Between the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix two Saturdays ago, Great Lakes Medieval Faire this Sunday, watching Captain America twice this week alone, and oh yeah, seeing Josh Groban in concert last night!

These are a few pics from the Great Lakes Medieval Faire. I know, I know a medival faire? And I got dressed up for it? What can I say this is a look into my quirky side. Besides it's a great place to score jewlery (see necklace above).

Here are some less than beautiful phone photos from last night at the Josh Groban concert. I got the tickets as one of my sixteenth birthday presents so after searching for two months all the way back in February I found the perfect tickets, six rows back from the stage on the two edge seats. Then to top it all off one of the times he came off the stage down into the audience I got to touch his hand! Needless to say I have a new celebrity crush! I would highly suggest you go and see him if you get the chance! The show was amazing, and he's such a phenomenal musician! He played piano and drums and of course sung, and the show was highly entertaining he's got a great sense of humor!  Oh yeah almost forgot if you look in the second concert pic and you can the the name Elew on the piano he was Josh's open act and he was the most amazing piano player I've ever seen.

None of the rights to this photo or movie belong to me they are those of Marvel Studios and their associates.

I'm am in love with this movie if you haven't see it I highly recommend it! I've seen it twice, this week, first on Monday with my friends and again to day with the family after spending almost all day on the beach (pure heaven). I will admit that I'm marvel movies obsessed so I might not be the best judge of their movies, but I will say even by my very biased opinion this one was a good one!

Sorry this post was so long and about half of it was an infomercial, but we've been super busy and I wnated to share all of my adventures! I wanted to get back on here with an outfit post too, but this will just have to do for today! And instead you got see a bit of some of my other loves besides clothes!

Have a lovely rest of your week! :-)
